Hair loss treatment varies based on what caused your hair loss or thinning hair. Some treatment options include taking medications, undergoing surgery or light therapy.
Hair Loss is a common condition where you lose up to 100 strands of hair per day. Hair loss treatment focuses on diagnosing the cause of hair loss or thinning hair and creating a treatment plan that fits your goals.
Hair loss or hair thinning treatment could include:
Hereditary hair loss
Most common cause of hair loss. Both men and women develop this type of hair loss, in men, it’s called male pattern hair loss. Women get female pattern hair loss.
It means that you’ve inherited genes that cause your hair follicles (what each hair grows out of) to shrink and eventually stop growing hair.
Age
As we age, hair growth slows. At some point, hair follicles stop growing hair, which causes the hair on our scalp to thin. Hair also starts to lose its color. A woman’s hairline naturally starts to recede.
Alopecia areata
A condition that develops when the body’s immune system attacks hair follicles (what holds the hair in place), causing hair loss. You can lose hair
anywhere on your body, including your scalp, inside your nose, and in your ears. Some people lose their eyelashes or eyebrows.
Cancer treatment
Chemotherapy or radiation treatment to your head or neck region can lead to the thinning of hair follicles and eventually result in complete or partial hair loss.
Childbirth, illness, or other stressors
A few months after giving birth, recovering from an illness, or having an operation, you may notice a significant hair fall.
Hormonal imbalance
A common cause of this imbalance is polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
Thyroid diseases
Problems with your thyroid may cause thinning of hair and subsequent hair fall.
Too little biotin, iron, protein, or zinc
If you’re not getting enough of one or more of these, you can have noticeable hair loss.
Before any type of treatment begins, our esthetic experts will examine your hair & scalp, get your complete medical and family medical history, and offer tests if necessary.
This will help them learn more about why you have hair loss or thinning hair.
The underlying causes can be treated according to the factors involved.
- Oral
- Topical
- Suitable only for males
Light Therapy
Light Therapy or LED Therapy uses medical-grade lights directed at your scalp for a short period to help regrow your hair. Light therapy can stimulate the hair follicles in your skin to help your hair grow. You may need several light therapy sessions before you see results.
Plasma Therapy
Plasma therapy or PRP is a procedure that involves platelets from your own blood. Blood is collected and then spun in a centrifuge machine to separate the components of your blood. The platelets are separated from blood plasma and injected back into your body. It helps regrow hair.
Scalp Micropigmentation
A type of tattoo, also known as a hair tattoo, which can cover bald spots or thinning hair without surgery or any treatment.
